The Plays and Poems of William Shakespeare.  London.  1821.  F. C. and J. Rivington, et al.  Vol. XIV only. [4], 420 pp. (8vo) 21x13 cm (8¼x5¼"), period half red morocco & marbled boards, rebacked in matching red morocco lettered in gilt, raised spine bands, marbled endpapers.

Charles Dickens' copy of the volume of Shakespeare's plays containing Coriolanus and Winter's Tale. Dickens' bookplate, with a lion and a star, on front pastedown, and below that a smaller printed plate stating "From the Library of Charles Dickens, Gadshill Place, June, 1870," when the library was sold at auction. Dickens is known to have owned a copy of this 1821 edition of Shakespeare, but the complete set does not appear to have survived.
