Volume II: pp.vii, 560. 3 plates., hors-texte. 2 figures in text. Publisher's blue cloth gilt. Printed dustwrappers, clipped, worn to corners, rubbed to edges, just-nicked, very short closed tears, trifle soiled through handling, now protected. First volume affected by water: front board splashed, affecting dye and board, trifle staining to front pastedown, and causing rippling to prelims and to page 14. Volume I, slight split between portrait frontis and title page (webbing just visible). Owner's name and date to front free endpapers of both volumes. O/w contents clean and bright. Binding firm and square. Errata slip present. Very good copies in like dustwrappers.
