First trip of the Empire State Express, the beautifully streamlined art deco passenger train.  Incredibly the trip went off as planned despite Pearl Harbor having been totally destroyed earlier that morning.  Franked with 1c abd 2c Defense issues.  A top-noth example of this interesting war-related cover.
