Hilton, James.  Good-bye, Mr. Chips.  (London): Hodder & Stoughton, 1934.  Small octavo, original royal blue cloth, original dust jacket.  WITH: Typed letters signed.  Hollywood, California, 1946, 1948.  Preferred first English edition, this rare association copy with two laid-in, typed letters, both written from Hilton' Hollywood home and signed by him, one dated January 1, 1946, the second June 24, 1948, both regarding reprints of "Mr. Chips Meets a Star" in the popular short story anthology Family Reader (1946).  Text fine, faint paperclip traces, tape residue to preliminaries; some soiling, chipping along upper edges of dust jacket.  An extremely good copy with two near-fine laid-in letters.
