Romeo and Juliet [1734] / William Shakespeare London: Jacob Tonson, 1734 Book. Near Fine. Wrappers. [4] pp 84 Shakespeare's great romantic tragedy in a standalone edition which subsequently became part of Jacob Tonson's 1735 edition of Shakespeare's Works. Octavo in format, this play is preceded by an engraved frontispiece, the general title page for Volume VI (1735) of the Works, the play's title page (1734) and Prologue followed by the Dramatis Personae and thence to Verona. The play has recently been bound in pretty marbled wrappers with a printed paper label to the front cover and new endpapers. A little browning to the frontispiece, otherwise a very good copy.
